I met Kristen during the first week of our freshman year of college and we’ve been inseparable ever since. She’s my running partner and one of the sweetest friends I know. This girl drops by unannounced with gifts or encouraging notes on a regular basis, cooks for me, and in general just loves me so well.
For our session, we broke one of the rules of Photography 101: shoot when there’s good light. With Kristen’s busy schedule (girl is studying for the MCAT, doing research, volunteering at UNC Hospitals, and more), we had to shoot at noon on one heck of a sunny day. Sunny days often equal shadowy, spotty pictures and people with raccoon eyes. Kristen assured me this would be great practice for me 😉
And it was! We had so much fun shooting. I worked with the light, found as many shady spots as possible, and ended up with some images we both loved. I sent Kristen a ton of edited images and it was so hard to narrow it down to just these for the blog.
